چکیده

Optothermal interaction of active colloidal matter can facilitate environmental cues, which influence the dynamics soft systems. The optically induced thermal effect be harnessed to study non-equilibrium thermodynamics as well applied self-propel colloids and form assemblies. In this work, we employ a defocused laser trap self-evolving matter. optothermal in both focused optical traps has been investigated ascertain their thermophoretic behavior, shows long-range attraction short-range repulsion between colloids. gradient field-enabled have re-configurable dynamic assembly. Additionally, assembly undergoes self-evolution new colloid joins structure. Further, show that incident polarization state field employed parameter modulate structural orientation simple serve model understand collective systems microscopic engine.

Laser Optothermal Detection of Absorption in Gas Flows

A new method of detection of weak absorption in gas flows is considered. It is based on probing the flow by transverse laser radiation with subsequent measurement of local temperature variations with a thermal transducer placed across the flow. The advantage of this method is a high spatial resolution (up to 0.1 mm) at sufficienly high threshold sensitivity ( ~ 10""' cm). The results of tentati...

Motion of a colloidal particle in an optical trap.

Thermal position fluctuations of a colloidal particle in an optical trap are measured with microsecond resolution using back-focal-plane interferometry. The mean-square displacement and power spectral density are in excellent agreement with the theory for a Brownian particle in a harmonic potential that accounts for hydrodynamic memory effects. The motion of a particle is dominat...

Effect of Defocused CO2 Laser on Equine Tissue Perfusion

Treatment with defocused CO2 laser can have a therapeutic effect on equine injuries, but the mechanisms involved are unclear. A recent study has shown that laser causes an increase in equine superficial tissue temperature, which may result in an increase in blood perfusion and a stimulating effect on tissue regeneration. However, no studies have described the effects on equine tissue perfusion....

Reconfigurable optothermal microparticle trap in air-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fiber.

We report a novel optothermal trapping mechanism that occurs in air-filled hollow-core photonic crystal fiber. In the confined environment of the core, the motion of a laser-guided particle is strongly influenced by the thermal-gradient-driven flow of air along the core surface. Known as "thermal creep flow," this can be induced either statically by local heating, or dynamically by the absorpti...

Active microrheology in a colloidal glass.

We study the dynamics of a probe particle driven by a constant force through a colloidal glass of hard spheres. This nonequilibrium and anisotropic problem is investigated using a new implementation of the mode-coupling approximation with multiple relaxation channels and Langevin dynamics simulations. A force threshold is found, below which the probe remains localized, while above it the probe ...
